A wedding for Fia
26-year old Fia was immersed with her wedding celebrations. It wasn't going to be a grand wedding, but her friends wanted Fia to look the best. So, everyday they enjoyed dressing up Fia in colourful and bright outfits. Fia just couldn't hide her happiness.

Cancer plays spoil sport
What could have been a beautiful new life for Fia, turned into a sad, heart broken moment. When she developed throat pain, little did she realise that the doctor at the Mobile clinic would send her to our hospital for a series of tests. She held her mother close while our oncologist, holding Fia's hand, broke the news. She looked at her mother and the doctor helplessly, while trying to control her emotions. Within hours and days, her future was re-written.
But, Fia is a strong woman.

Recently, Fia chose to walk the ramp at an event in the slum. "Don't I love walking the ramp? I have seen on television how the models walk. How did I do? I think I did well," her babbling goes on.

For young women such as Fia, who live in make-shift tents, conditions are often deplorable. Life beyond the tent is only a dream. But to dress as models and have the TIME dedicated to themselves, other than the household work, was something special. Most importantly, for Fia, it was special. Her scars were just healing.
